Shortly after arriving in Japan I discovered sento . I really enjoy going, but when moving to a new area I found it is quite difficult to find a sento without being able to read the Japanese telephone directory or without knowing locals. I discovered the sento in my neighbourhood only by chance. I'm sure there are many others like me out there, so I decided to create this website and, hopefully with your help, develop an English language database of sento all over Japan. Naturally it is impossible for me to visit all sento in the country, so if the one in your neighbourhood is not yet listed in our database, please feel free to submit it.
